  • The king of radio: CYRIL rules the airwaves in 2024

Breakout artist CYRIL has cemented his name as one of Australia’s leading music talents by topping the 2024 Year-End Top 100 Airplay Chart.

‘Stumblin’ In’ spent eight weeks at #1 on the weekly AirCheck National Radio Airplay Chart and amassed a total of 26,557 spins since earning its first play on Nova in January.

In fact, CYRIL notched up more spins this calendar year than international heavyweights Ariana Grande, The Weeknd and Billie Eilish, no mean feat for a Darwin-based DJ/producer who, up until the start of year, was virtually unknown in the Australian music scene.

Following on from ‘Stumblin’ In’, the Spinnin’ Records artist teamed up with compatriot Dean Lewis to muster up his second career #1 hit with ‘Fall At Your Feet’. Fast forward to August, the DJ was back at it again, this time alongside Aussie singer-songwriter Kita Alexander on ‘True’, which peaked at #18.

‘Fall At Your Feet’ and ‘True’ ended up at #19 and #69 on the Year-End chart, and alongside ‘Stumblin’ In’, marks one of the best solo performances by an Australian artist on local airwaves for quite some time.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to see ‘Stumblin’ In’ resonate so strongly with audiences and receive such incredible support from radio”, said Amanda Blue, Founder of Blue Music Services, and one of the many individuals who make up Team CYRIL.

“This achievement is a testament to CYRIL’s talent and the hard work of everyone involved in bringing this track to life. A huge thanks to all the programmers, presenters, and listeners for embracing the song and making this possible.”

Taylor Swift was the most-played artist on radio this year with 86,740 spins. 108 unique songs went to air with Taylor as a lead or featured artist, a figure that is unmatched by any other artist.

Swift notched up five entries on the Year-End chart (‘Is It Over Now?’, ‘Fortnight’, ‘Cruel Summer’, ‘I Can Do It With A Broken Heart’, ‘Karma’), while Dua Lipa enjoyed another great year at radio with five entries (‘Training Season’, ‘Houdini’, ‘Dance The Night’, ‘Illusion’, ‘Cold Heart’).

There were 19 singles by Australian artists in the Top 100, two fewer than last year.
