‘You Found Me’ from The Fray was the most played song on Australian radio in 2009.
AirCheck™, the Leader in Broadcast Monitoring, released the figures today showing ‘You Found Me’ in the top spot with 13,552 spins and ‘Gives You Hell’ from the All-American Rejects in second place with Airplay of 12,411 instances.
AirCheck monitors the airplay of songs and commercials on all 45 commercial radio stations in the six biggest markets, plus Triple j and FBi-FM in Sydney.
“The number one song from The Fray occupied a whopping 922 hours of radio airtime over the year” Keith Williams, Managing Director of AirCheck said today. “Fox Fm in Melbourne played it more than any other station with Sydney’s Nova 969 a very close second making a combined total of over 1600 spins. We are producing this type of market intelligence of songs and commercials everyday with AirCheck”, he continued.
AirCheck is the only company publishing weekly airplay charts for the radio and music industries, using real time data to compile national and local market based music charts for competitive analysis.
AirCheck airplay data is used exclusively by The MusicNetwork and Mediaweek publications.
