The 2022 ARIA Awards are upon us. To celebrate the Australian music industry’s night-of-nights, AirCheck takes a look at the radio airplay for the 10 Song Of The Year nominees.
Vance Joy’s ‘Clarity’ received 17,983 spins, the most of any song by an Australian artist. The single has appeared in the airplay chart‘s Top 40 for the entire year, peaking at No. 5. Nova 96.9 was the leading contributor with 1,189 spins.
The Kid LAROI was on top of his game in 2022 as ‘Thousand Miles’ notched 14,124 spins. 26 stations spun the song this year, with CADA and Hit104.7 leading the charge with 887 and 751 spins, respectively.
Dean Lewis secures third place with ‘Hurtless’ (12,708 spins). The singer-songwriter is the only Universal Music Australia artist to be nominated in the category this year.
Clinton Kane’s ‘I Guess I’m In Love’ is also nominated for the coveted Song Of The Year award. Despite peaking at No. 25 on the ARIA Singles Chart, ‘I Guess I’m In Love’ received no radio airplay in Australia this year.
